To ensure an authentic experience, the owner travelled to Singapore for specialised training in crafting Ya Kun’s famed offerings, even importing ingredients straight from Singapore.

A traditional Singaporean breakfast is incomplete without a serving of kaya butter toast, alongside perfectly soft-boiled eggs seasoned with white pepper and soy sauce, and complemented by a cup of freshly brewed milk tea. The toast is charcoal grilled until perfectly crisp, then slathered with Ya Kun’s exclusive kaya spread and layered with cold hard butter. Each bite delivers a sweet burst of coconut flavour. The traditional way to enjoy this dish is by dipping the crispy kaya butter toast into the half-boiled egg, creating a delightful fusion of flavours that elevates the experience.
