Hector Costa Fernandez is the Executive Chef of Barcelona Macau – a contemporary Spanish Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Taipa Village Macau.
As a native Spaniard, Chef Hector’s craftsmanship is strongly driven by his passion in sustaining the legacy and traditions of Spanish cuisine. He boasts a proven track record with over 20 years of knowledge and techniques accumulated from his work in numerous prestigious hotels and restaurants of Europe, Middle East and Asia including Macau and Hong Kong. He believes the importance of classical cuisine is the basis for all innovation and contemporary dining.
Chef Hector strives to create authentic dining experiences with high respect for tradition, integrity of products and flavours, and a solid knowledge of food handling. The result is an exciting “symphony of flavours”, surprising guests with simplicity and authenticity and, consequently, building a strong customer base to the restaurant.
Apart from his profound culinary background, Chef Hector also has expertise in training and development. This includes the creation of new concepts and products, acting as consultant for a number of restaurant openings, renovations and turnarounds in different countries, as well as offering consistent and customer-oriented solutions with fine detail and quality.
